Why are psychics against Catholic teachings?

Hi I'm a Catholic and I was wondering if having a psychic reading was against my faith and if so, why? I just had one and it has made me desire to do very good things. However, my friend has been nagging me about. I can understand why wigi(I dont think I spelled it right) boards, tarot cards, and zodiac signs are wrong but why psychics? The women was dead on with my reading. I don't understand why it is though. Why would God I've them that power if He didn't allow it?
